Q: How to search in Ubuntu application repository?

A: There are several ways to search in Ubuntu application repository but the easiest way is as follows:

sudo apt-cache search YourKeyWord

for example if you want to see if Keepass application is in the repository, simply write:

sudo apt-cache search keepass

and you will get something like:

keepass2 – Password manager
keepass2-doc – Password manager – Documentation
keepassx – Cross Platform Password Manager
kpcli – command line interface to KeePassX password manager databases
libfile-keepass-perl – interface to KeePass V1 and V2 database files
